Friday Favorites

This week has been cray cray busy week... which was good because my 35 week appointment is next Tuesday I CANT WAIT and the busyness helps the week to go by faster. These are a few of my favorite things (OMG what movie is that from???) from Week 34.

1. A Supportive (in his own special way) Husband:
As I expected Out of F'ing nowhere, my ankles and feet started to swell. I came home from work on Monday, took off my shoe and bam! "who's fatty foot is that????" Naturally, I take a picture and send it to Tim. Sexy huh?

2. Fall decor:
Although I love summer weather vacation, I do get excited for all the events that fall has to bring. September 22nd officially marked the first day of fall (in almost every other state except Florida. Fall doesn't start in S Fla till late October)

There are already pumpkins around the house which smells deliciously like pumpkin cookies :o)

 3. Pumpkins:
Soooo... I dont think I will be carving a pumpkin solo this year (Pregnancy clumsiness is not a myth! Clumsiness + large knife does not sound like a great combo) but that hasn't stopped me from finding creative ways to decorate a pumpkin this year.
I love this B pumpkin I found for the BERRIEUM's door step (I also love the fact that I felt the need to capitalize my entire new last name. If this story where told out loud I probably would have made a big hand gesture for extra emphasis).
I will pass the torch to Tim this year, who will be carving his first pumpkin ever (stay turned for pictures of that hilarity)

4. TV premiers
I know Im a week early but next week marks the season premiere of Scandal. Im on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what Olivia Pope and the Gladiators will get themselves into this season.

5. Salad night:
We are still working out the quirks but I do love salad night in our home. Neither Tim nor I grew up in households that ate salads as meals and as much as we love hearty dinners, it feels good to start healthy traditions for our new family. It is far from perfect. Tim came home on salad night this week, looked at his dinner and said "soooo what else are we eating"? He ate it (then later snuck out and ate a cheeseburger).

Holla Back

A lot of people have asked my why we chose to do a blog about Baby B. The truth is... partial laziness. When we first found out we were pregnant, I looked for a book or journal or something to track my pregnancy memories. Some of them were so cute but seemed too time consuming "write your feelings everyday" Wrong! "Take a weekly picture of yourself and paste here" We know how good I am at consistent photo taking plus the added fun of venturing out to print them out... Fun. They just didn't seem for me.
Then I found out that there is a way to turn a blog into a book and TDBabyB was born. I can add whatever I want from the comfort of wherever my computer is, in my pajamas and have the book printed and mailed to me for the baby to enjoy in years to come.

I also really like the idea of family and friends being a part of my pregnancy journal. So "Holla Back!"
Feel free to comment on posts. Share your thoughts and memories with us and Baby B.

Friday Favorites... Home Edition

As I am packing away all of the the goodies from our baby shower, I realized I haven't done a post about all the changes that Tim and I have made to our place in preparation for Layla. We currently live in a mansion matchbox and it has been a challenge to fit the three of us comfortably here until we get a bigger place.

1. My # 1 favorite thing is Layla's crib. Its so adorable and fits perfectly into our small place.
I made the mistake of asking Tim to build the crib during a football game
2nd quarter....

4th quarter... lol
But after the game was over, the crib was built. Which leads us too...

2. The mobile. I loved this idea and with the help of Aunt Lee and Mych (helping me to "obtain" over 100 paint swatches) we were able to create it.
3. The closet. So hear is the back story on the closet: One of the biggest issues with living in a 1/1 with 2.5 people is the teeny tiny closet.  After weeks of having this conversation...
Me: "Tim can you fix the closet"
Tim: "Yes, Ill do it later"
I got bold and decided to do it myself. When Tim came home I greeted him at the door with "soooo dont be mad". He walked in the bedroom and found this hurricane.
I was able to take everything out of the closet then Layla reminded me I was 7 months pregnant and the work pretty much stopped there.
So after a long day at work, he fixed the closet... mumbling angrily at me the entire time.
The closet is now 75% complete but a HUGE improvement to what it was

4. Our dresser. I am a space addict and Tim is a hoarder (we will probably need therapy for this one day). With our closet completely packed, we still needed somewhere to put Baby's things. I found this second hand dresser at a consignment shop for $70 SCORE!
My dad repurposed it and now we have a home for Layla's things. Picture below

5. Lastly our bedroom finally getting put together. Although it's small, I worked hard to find a home for everything (It is quite the process to get Tim to part with something. Like it said, hoarder... love you Boo)  Im proud of what we created.

Showered With Love

Saturday September 14th was Baby B's shower. It was a beautiful event, hosted by Aunti Lee, Kat and Mych, and I could not have dreamed of anything more. I was actually so in awe of all of the details I did not get a chance to take many pictures (thank you for whoever took these photos that I stole from Eversnap)

We were joined by many family and friends and felt truly loved. We also got so many amazing gifts to use for Baby B. I am so in love with all of the little blankets, towels and of course outfits. Plus all of the practical things you dont think of until you need them like diaper cream and socks (and diapers which Tim discovered we would need "are you for real? 72 diapers in a week!?!?!)
I had so much fun and am truly thankful for everyone who was able to attend. It is a day I will never forget.

Week 32. Ultrasound!!!

So after 6 weeks of anxious excited waiting, today I had my 32 week ultrasound.
Layla is getting so big, 4.25 pounds and is still in birthing position. We are more and more excited to meet her everyday.
Because of her position (head down, bottom up, facing my spine) it was difficult to capture really clear pictures but she did give us a quick glimpse of her amazingness.
 Face forward

Profile

How far along? 32 Weeks

Maternity clothes? Most of the time. They are just so much comfier
Stretch marks? Still just 1.
Best moment this week:  Seeing Layla in the ultrasound. Also, our baby shower is this weekend. I hope to do a post about it soon.
Miss Anything? Nothing really this week.
Movement: Yes. I actually miss feeling her movements in the moments she's resting
Food cravings:
Chocolate and more strange things than before. Like Wednesday I was craving an ice cream float (which my non-pregnant self finds pretty gross) Tim surprised me by bringing home ice cream and decaffeinated coke (he knew if he brought me a float that I would take one sip of it and throw it away, so he got me something I can make a tiny float out of then use the ingredients for something later. Sometimes he just gets me)
Gender: Girl
Wedding Ring on or off: On
Labor Signs: Occasional contractions. 3-4 a day
Belly Button in or out? Still in
Happy or Moody most of the time: Kinda moody
Looking forward to: The baby shower

Week 31

How far along? 31 Weeks

Maternity clothes? Most of the time. They are just so much comfier
Stretch marks? Still just 1. But Im usually wearing a layer of lotion
Best (and scariest) moment this week:  hearing that Layla is in birthing position. Best moment because I cant wait to see her. Scariest moment because I want things to be (as) perfect (as they can be) when she arrives and we are still working on our to-do's
Miss Anything? READ THE WHOLE ANSWER BEFORE JUDGING. Selfishness. (Im not sure thats the best word to describe what Im feeling... just follow me on this one) Not that I WANT to be selfish but doing something without thinking how it effects someone else would be a little bit of a stress relief. Does that sound crazy bad? My every waking thought is of Layla "Did we eat right?, Are we resting enough? What can I do to make life better for her?"  or Tim or my family or work. I kind of want to go and get my nails for 30 min without thinking "I wonder if the smell is seeping into my placenta... or the myriad of other things that cross my mind in a millisecond.
Movement: Moving more and more everyday.
Food cravings:
Pizza and fro-yo have been my common requests the past few weeks. Not that I have Papa Johns on speed dial or even eat it every week, I just would be perfectly pleased to if someone where to feed me them everyday.
Gender: Girl
Wedding Ring on or off: On
Labor Signs: Occasional contractions. 3-4 a day
Belly Button in or out? Still in
Happy or Moody most of the time: Kinda moody... which im sure you could tell by my post
Looking forward to: My next ultrasound in 1 week!!!

Third Trimester update

So I haven't posted in a few days, mostly due to the terribleness of trimester three. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and will fill you in on what a delight (sarcasm implied) this week has been. Until then I figured I should at least give an excuse for my absence.
The past 2 weeks haven't been ALL bad. There have been rays of sunshine in the stormy symptoms of T3 so in efforts to focus on the positive....

1. We visited Tim's home town, Rock Bluff, for Labor Day weekend. (Iv honestly wanted to make a joke about LABOR Day, all week and my overworked brain cells haven't been coming up with anything clever so... I digress and will move on, only slightly defeated). We didn't take a lot of pictures, our picture people skills haven't improved much in the past few weeks but we did have a great time.
Tim spent a good amount of time on the John Deer riding mower, which he thoroughly enjoyed and I went on a nature hike with my Garnet (his high school colors, garnet and gold) scarf and Piggly Wiggly water. lol
We got to spend time with his family, some of whom haven't seen me since I started growing a small person and his grandmother who is celebrating her 83rd birthday this week.

2. In other exciting news, I purchased my diaper bag!!!. I am pretty excited about it. After searching for the perfect bag to fit my style and needs, I think this is the one.
I found it on Etsy, so I haven't seen it up close yet but I'll probably post about it when it comes in so look out for it in the next few weeks.

3. Im starting to put together my hospital bag and on an unrelated trip to Target (this always happens, go in for 1 thing, leave with 10), I found the cutest Mama & Mini Pajamas.

Set 1. Purple polka dot Gillian & O'Malley set and Purple polka-dot Circo short sleeve Onsie (came in a pack with 4 other Misc colored onsie's)
Set 2: Gillian O'Malley Sleep Shirt in Crystal Pink and a long sleeve crystal pink and grey onsie (came in a pack with 2 other long sleeved onsies)
I cant wait to wear our matching Pj's. Im hoping they will still fit my ever growing body in a few weeks.
