Week 8

Its spring break!!!
With all of my time off this week I was hoping to start writing my homemade chalkboard

But as you can see, there was a little tear in my plan
Note to self: painting on glass without first sanding= disaster

Regardless, this week Tim and I went to Jamaica! It was Tim's first time out of the country and a long over-do trip for me. We had a great time (minus the bumpy roads which left me praying my little blueberry liked roller coaster rides). In our short 3 days we spent time in Kingston, Castleton Gardens, Clarendon and Oche Rios where we visited Little Dunn's River, and Mystic Mountain.
We even brought home a souvenir for our little world traveler.

The day after we returned from our trip was my 8 week check-up and I got another great picture to add to my spring break memories
The large round object to the right of my little kidney bean is one of the fibroids... wooo saaaa

How far along? 8 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: 2 pounds (Started at 128, dropped to 126 in week 6, now at 130)

Maternity clothes? Nope

Stretch marks? No but I started lotioning today so I hope that remains my answer
Sleep: Sleeping fine but starting to have some strange dreams

Best moment this week: Tim talking to Baby B about nonsense of course but it was adorable just the same

Have you told family and friends: No. I am hoping to wait until my next Dr's appt in 4 weeks!! Lets see how well that goes.

Miss Anything? Being able to eat without fear of nausea

Movement: None

Food cravings: Sour and salty.... I literally put a pickle on top of a Dill pickle potato chip yesterday and was in heaven

Anything making you queasy or sick: EVERYTHING! The thought of foods is enough to make my stomach turn
Have you started to show yet: definitely looking chubby but no baby bump

Gender prediction: Not guessing.... as of yet

Labor Signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!

Looking forward to: The end of morning sickness so I can enjoy feeding Baby B nutritiously and my 12 week appt ultrasound pictures.

Week 7.... Not exactly heaven

So I will admit, being pregnant is not what I expected.
My vision: a healthy food and workout makeover, nesting and preparing the big surprise for the family while my hair magically grew to my knees and my skin had a heavenly glow (I didn't say they were logical expectations).
The reality: (Both weeks can be summed into 2 words or less) Week 6 "Nauseas Exhaustion"and after a scary trip to the emergency room we learned a new F word for Week 7 "Fibroids".
Mama Drama aside, we are still blessed with a healthy baby blueberry.
Next week is Spring Break, Jamaica, Easter and hopefully the start of my belly pic journey.

We're Having a... Dot?

After about a week of denial (on my part), our Dr confirmed "Congratulations. You're pregnant!" Although Tim has been very calm and cool about it, I was a little nervous and skeptical, to say the least. Here is a brief synopsis of my reaction:
Feb 27th Home pregnancy test
Test # 1 "Thats weird. I wonder if I can get my money back for the broken test?"
Test # 2 "What the heck did I eat today?"
Test # 3 "Maybe I should call the Dr."
March 5th Dr's visit/Test # 4
"OMG, Im pregnant!"
The little dot in the picture is our baby... isn't it cute?

A Little About Us

Him: Born & raised in North Florida, Tim is truly a Southern Gentleman. He still says “yes mam” and has a drawl but has successfully mastered "pen" vs "pin". He played 3 sports in high school, track, basketball and football (and is still very athletic today) but is also very artistic, loves music and movies and creative outlets.

Me: Born in Jamaica and raised in South Florida, I love palm trees and the beach. I love all things crafty, baking and decorating being my favorites. Not much of an athlete in my school days, I have been getting better over the years (if I could only “lift my knees”)

Where did we meet? We officially meet at work at an Elementary school but soon also realized went to the same college... FAU. Go Owls!

Things we like to do. We love TV marathons, festivals, traveling and being outdoors

Our story… the outline: August of 2013, we will officially have known each other 8 years. Although we hit it off pretty early, it wasn’t always smooth sailing but as they say “A smooth sea never makes good sailors”. Fast forward 7 + years and we are in love and ready for the rest of our lives. The end... yet only the beginning :o)
